Had a very strange, but enjoyable, stroll around campus. The same guys are still serving in the 'supermarket'. The bookshop, travel agents, university shop and newsagents are all as they were when I left in 1993. Past the postbox, which back in the day was where I infrequently posted letters home. Across the bridge, marvelling that the loch was still 80% frozen and wondering if throwing coins onto the frozen loch would make that eerie sound again (if you've never tried it, do it the next time it's frozen) and up to Murray Hall (1st year room 4/26, right by the kitchen and that spring loaded door) - by now I just had a stupid grin on my face as I remembered people, conversations and good times. Through the halls and over to Chalet 10 (4th year), but didn't stop to collect my mail from its pigeon hole. Then past Pathfoot and out the back and off to my old flat in Chalton Road, Bridge of Allan (2nd and 3rd year). Then on to the Crooked Arm for a pint, but it was closed/shut down so had to settle on the Westerton where the burning question of the day was how to get a vista powered laptop to recognise a printer - barmaids and bytes, who'd have thought it? 28th January 2010
